DAY & EVENING, IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL
Sometimes you just need a space that’s yours — somewhere to think out loud, make sense of what you’re feeling, and work through it with someone whose only focus is you. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, a difficult transition, grief, or a general sense that things aren’t quite right, individual counselling gives you that space. At GreenValley Counselling Services in Burlington, we offer one-on-one therapy for adults, tailored to what you’re actually facing and paced to you.
People come to individual therapy for all kinds of reasons — some clear, some harder to name. You might find it helpful if you’re dealing with:
You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit from therapy. Wanting to understand yourself better, or simply wanting support, is reason enough.
There’s no single right way to do therapy, because there’s no single kind of person who comes to it. Our Burlington therapists draw on a range of evidence-based approaches — including CBT, and other methods suited to what you’re working through — and adapt them to you rather than fitting you to a method. Some people want practical tools and strategies; others want to understand the deeper roots of a pattern; many want both. We’ll find the approach that works for you.
If what brings you in is more specific, we also have focused support for anxiety, depression, and grief — and we can help you figure out where to start.

Getting started begins with a quick conversation with one of our client care coordinators, who will listen to what you’re looking for and match you with a therapist who fits. From there you can book a session directly, or arrange a free introductory call first — whichever feels more comfortable. Your first sessions are about understanding what brought you in and what you’d like to be different; from there, the work is collaborative and paced to you.
You don’t need a crisis or a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If something’s weighing on you, a pattern keeps repeating, or you just feel like you’d benefit from support, that’s reason enough. A short conversation with our client care coordinators can help you decide.
Mostly listening. Your therapist will want to understand what brought you in, what you’re hoping for, and a bit of your history — no pressure to have it all figured out. Together you’ll get a sense of where to start.
It varies. Some people come for a few sessions around a specific issue; others value longer-term support. There’s no set number — you and your therapist will check in on what’s working and adjust.
Sessions at our Burlington office start at $170, and many extended health plans cover therapy. It’s worth checking your coverage.
Yes — individual counselling is available in person at our Burlington office and virtually across Ontario, whichever suits you better.
Reaching out doesn’t have to be a big step. A short conversation with one of our client care coordinators is enough to get started — they’ll listen to what you’re looking for and match you with the right therapist for you.
